lyrics

Between the light and the faded sky
There is flesh and people's lives
Pressed down and bleached out
By the silver spoon and the barcoded moon.

Might this be a trillion souls
of frailty and ruptured cure
Embossed by layers of vanity
and never ever knowing why

The endless reams of duplication
The replica’s on every station
Bring into view
the truth between the foes

So I wrap myself in folded arms
I stretch my legs and cross my heart
I raise my glass
I’m never ever ever leaving here...

The Everest is too far and too high
I can’t breed in the fumbled air
Roll back from the steaming edge
Truant, squeezed and old school

And the shapes provided were unclear
Stiff corners and parallel planes
Gestapo waves of concrete screens
Splayed walls in sunflower fields

So I wrap myself in folded arms
I stretch my legs and cross my heart
I raise my glass
I’m never ever leaving here...
